The Take A Kid Fishing Foundations is a non-profit organization that supports disadvantaged youth and children with special needs of Eastern North Carolina, by hosting a day-long coastal fishing adventure.
This year the Take A Kid Fishing Foundation celebrates their 20th year. Children come from orphanages, children’s homes and state and local agencies to spend the day sharing with others what their family and friends once shared with them. This time together enriches their lives and creates memories that last a lifetime.
Contributors and Volunteers alike have given their time, talents and resources to help the Take A Kid Fishing Foundation provide over 9,000 disabled and disadvantaged youth with an opportunity to go saltwater fishing while teaching them about conservation and our ocean environment. Over 1,000 children will again visit the Crystal Coast. They will be treated to a fun-filled day of saltwater fishing, visits to the North Carolina Aquarium, and trips aboard the Diamond City Cruise Ship.
Their day long adventure will conclude with cookouts at both the Crystal Coast and Swansboro Rotary Civic Centers where everyone will receive goodie boxes and coolers filled with fish for their enjoyment once they return home.
We are solely funded through contributions from individuals, corporations, and civic organizations. The annual event sponsored by the foundation has continued to grow and is in need of your support. With an annual cost of over $68,000, your help is greatly needed.
Won’t you join with us in providing disadvantaged and disabled youth from all across the Carolinas with an opportunity to learn more about our coastal environments and the art of fishing, while positively affecting their lives?
Your contributions are entirely tax deductible and by pledging your support, you are insuring that this worthwhile foundation will continue its growth and the service to these youth for many years to come. |
